Somewhat hackneyed premise but potentially good read nonetheless

The writing style itself looks promising and draws one in right away but I do find the whole premise of returning home to a family one doesn't get along with and 'finding oneself' a rather hackneyed one. It's been done over and over again, and in this day and age comes across as a privilege that a lot of people don't even have to go back and forth from their family support networks - so... I'm not quite sure if this is a book for me.

The cover is a tad unexciting as well, and could have been a little bit more creative and vibrant.
