Immediately I felt the writing was too chunky--the author tries to put too much information into one sentence and it bores, confuses, or distracts the reader. It breaks up the flow of the story and slows down the pace. Additionally, the premise isn't that exciting for me personally. I feel the story lacks a new twist or angle that we haven't seen before to really reel me in.
