I really enjoyed how this story brings you in to the drama of the story quickly. The first chapter had me wanting to know more about Sunday and why she was struggling to cope with life. Her circumstances were incredibly relatable - I mean, who hasn't been up too late at night after some questionable choices and wondering how they got there? The second chapter brought in her brother, Denny, and reminded me some of my own family dynamics. The struggles of aging parents, strained marriages, and wayward siblings really makes this story resonate in a "real life" kind of way. By the end of page 20, I was looking forward to meeting more of the family and following along with their story. The writing is descriptive without being overbearing, and I felt like I had dropped right into a recognizable and familiar world. Interested to read more!
