I really enjoy books that deal with the intricacies of families. The dynamics, secrets, trust, pain, etc. that exist in all families, but are hidden from the world and each other. From reading the first few pages of the book, it is clear that there is definitely a past that is has been buried and hidden for so long that it's only a matter of time before they have to face it all.
Behind façade, it is clear that Jackie, Denny and Sunday all care about each other, even if they are annoyed and frustrated by behaviors. It seems that the book will have changing Points of View as we have seen Sunday and Denny. I love books that do this. It allows characters to be more fully developed and real. It allows the reader to see true motivations and feels and how they interact with what we know and learn about the others.
I'm excited to read this book to really see how they are able to overcome the pain of the past and the issues of the present. Family is family and it appears that this will be a theme that runs throughout the storyline.
