4.5 stars. Lisa Jewell’s writing always seems to captivate my attention. I’ve read “Then She Was Gone” and fell in love with the twist, I believe I rated it 4.5 stars a well. Jewell’s writing style is smooth in my opinion; but always keeps me at the edge of my seat. Setting her books in the calm backdrop of an England setting and characters you want to know more about. The feeling that you, the reader, is being watched just like our characters. Each with their own flaws that make them feel real in a sense. The switching of POVs with Jewell’s start of a big bang at the beginning is why I love her writing style. Though the cast is a bit large, you can still manage and keep the most important characters in mind. I can be very picky with my psychological thrillers, some just don’t hit the mark for me: but Lisa Jewell knows what to do, especially to pick me up out of a reading slump.
