I have read other books by this author and have enjoyed them a lot, and this one gripped me from the start. The book opens on a crime scene and we are introduced to DC Rose Pelham. It is a first chapter opening that starts with a bang. We are then introduced to Joey, and we are told some of her history, as that she has recently married a man after knowing him a short time. She also recently lost her mother. Joey and her new husband move in temporarily with Joey’s brother and sister-in-law.
I do like the author’s writing style. Her descriptions of people and places are clear and concise, without being too wordy and flowery. I read an excerpt of this book and it is leaving me wanting to read the whole book!
