The main character, Joey, is a 27 year old that doesn't want to grow up. She is working but not in her chosen field. She is married, but that was a whirlwind relationship and she seems to be trying to remember why. Enter the neighbor, who is also married and older. It appears that they two of them share a brief moment. Then there is a transcript from her police interview and she is questioned about her relationship with this neighbor.
The prologue is the scene of the crime in March, the story opens up in January. The police transcript is added into the chapter. I like this style of the story going along, and the police going thru the crime simultaneously.
