Lisa Jewell does it again! Jewell has an amazing way of bringing together family drama and thrilling plots. In Watching You, she shares the story of neighbors who have more in common than you may think. The book shifts perspectives between several characters, which keeps the pace going. I preferred some characters over others. As the story progresses, you begin to uncover many secrets hidden behind the walls of these adjoining homes in a wealthy neighborhood.
The book was unpredictable in many ways. It has you buy into a storyline that seems believable, and then takes a few turns. All of this while diving into family psychology, autism, and infidelity. Watching You was more of a family drama than a thriller in my opinion, but I love how Lisa Jewell gets her readers to connect with the characters in a familial way. I’ll definitely be anxiously awaiting Lisa’s new book in summer 2021!
