This book opens with a DI at a murder scene. The DI finds a suede tassel from a purse presumably. From there we jump to our main character Joey. We learn that her mother has died, she has a brother named Jack, and she is a newlywed to Alfie. From there, the book takes off.

I like how the story goes back and forth from the murder that has occurred to the story with Joey. There is an unsettling undertone from the beginning of the story where you know in your gut that something is not right with our main character. It leaves you wondering just who was murdered, and how does Joey fit into it. Having just read the excerpt of the first twenty one pages, I'm interested to see how this story plays out.
