This was my fourth Lisa Jewell read and I swear she gets better with every book! Each time, I’m struck with the beauty of her writing, which is something that is honestly pretty rare in thrillers. Most thrillers I’ve read are plot-based and less focused on the prose. And this is where Jewell stands out from the rest.

In her earlier works, I found the plot a little more predictable. I still enjoyed each read because of her writing, but I wasn’t surprised by the twists or the mystery. In this latest work, though, there were plot twists abound -- fun ones too! And the creep factor was EXCELLENT. The book is just as creepy as the title suggests. Who isn’t freaked out by the idea of being targeted by a voyeur?

I loved the various perspectives in Watching You. Each one was distinct and added to the story. I enjoyed watching the mystery unfold. The characters were interesting and Joey, especially, shared some profound truths in her thoughts about her whirlwind romance and love for novelty, which really made me consider aspects of human nature that I hadn’t previously thought much about.

The wrap-up was pretty satisfying! Some aspects of the mystery I guessed -- albeit quite late in the story -- and others caught me off guard. Overall, this was quite an enjoyable mystery read. I listened to the audiobook and liked the narration. I look forward to reading Jewell’s next book!
