If you ever have lived or currently live within the confines of a suburban neighborhood or even an urban apartment type setting then you know that keeping an eye on your fellow neighbors is just a way of life. We have to take care of our own and even most times others in order to protect the quality of our little community oasis. Some people truly are dutiful citizens of the community checking for safety...always watching for the "bad guy" while others take it to a whole other level...and suddenly lurking and peering out the window into the lives of our neighbors becomes something more. Such is the case with Watching You by Lisa Jewell.

I'd like to say that I know a thing or two about a good mystery/psychological thriller after countless reads behind my belt. I'd like to say that I know a good book when I read one. I believe this to be one of those books. I also think that maybe I have read one too many of these kind of books to see anything unique anymore...and although I think that there are commonalities with this book as with most books of this genre...I still feel the vibe of this book took it to a level that was far away from mundane. A story with many viewpoints from many interesting characters. I love the idea that we are in a neighborhood...a feeling of being stuck in that neighborhood...things going on...creep factor at an all time high...and we have to get to the bottom of the scary stuff. It's a great plot for cozy night time reading. Atmospheric....chilling....fast paced....maddening in a great way.

Highly recommend.
