I became a big fan of Lisa Jewell's writing after reading The House We Grew Up in and Then She Was Gone and have come to expect complicated, realistic characters and intriguing situations whenever I pick up her newest novel. Watching You in no exception and I raced through it before I even knew what hit me.

The novel opens up with a murder and then goes back slightly in time, leading the reader to uncover who was murdered, who was the murderer, and exactly why and how it all came to be. The author does an excellent job of keeping the reader guessing and presenting a cast of characters that all seem to have something to hide. She also does a great job of showing the complex and often twisted partnership between obsession, mental illness, and the various types of human relationships. While I had an idea of who the murderer would end up being I could never have guessed at the road the story would take to lead to the final conclusion.

Lisa Jewell has once again presented a thought-provoking and intriguing mystery. Highly recommended!
