I love Lisa Jewell and her writing style and this first impression has got my reading appetite wanting more. What will become of Joey and Tom? They obviously become something because they met at a hotel we find out through the interview with the police?
I loved the opening that starts of with the DI Rose coming to a murder scene … great opener!!! Almost seems like a professional or psychopath is the killer the way the scene is laid out and described.
I also like how Joey visits her mom's grave and talks to her and makes me wonder what exactly happened to her mom and why did Joey move so far away in the first place just to come back.
The dynamics of Joey and her husband are interesting and can't wait to see their story played out as well as the relationship of Joey's brother and his wife Rebecca … Rebecca seems like she could be holding out secrets of her own...
And the cover .. wow amazing and draws you in... I can't wait to see how all these characters play out in this story and most of all I want to know why is Tom dead, who killed him and why? And what events led to it? Also intrigued in reading more from the detective's perspective and the police reports!!!
