I'm immediately intrigued by the mystery that is definitely going to come up (a police interview transcription in the first 20 pages!) and by the different characters. Joey seems like a girl who may be a little immature and is still figuring out who she is, what she wants in life, and even who she wants in life (even though she's a newlywed). Her brother seems like a caring and generous older brother while his wife, Rebecca, seems to have an air of mystery around her. And then there's the neighbor, Tom Fitzwilliam. What happens to him? What happens between him and Joey? I can't wait to find out!
