This book draws the reader in from the first page of the prologue, when a DC is looking at a murder scene. Then it moves to the backstory, with many characters and a lot of action. Joey is married to Alfie after only knowing him for a few days. She is unhappy with her life, unable to find the job that she really wants. When she sees the neighbor, Tom Fitzwilliam, she finds herself mysteriously attracted to him. This is the beginning of a mystery set in a charming neighborhood of colored houses and secrets...so many secrets! I really want to find out more about Joey and Tom and if they ever get together. And I really want to know who is lying dead on a kitchen floor and who killed that person!
