I received this book in a giveaway and decided to read it after reading a friend’s review. I thought the writing style was beautiful. There were topics that were hard (gaslighting, abuse, neglect, teenage loneliness) to read and hear about, but they are topics that need more attention. They were written in a way that you felt what was happening and wanted to help. Initially reading it and they started talking about actual ghosts and I thought nope, this isn’t going to work for me, but I kept reading trying to understand and I’m glad I did. The book was heartbreaking, but happy at the same time (if that even makes sense), with such a beautiful style of writing that despite some areas of being a little far fetched it was definitely worth the read. Also let’s talk about how gorgeous this cover is! This was my first Nina Lacour book and I’m sure hoping to read more in the future.
