Mila is a foster child about to age out of the system. Newly graduated from high school she takes a job at a remote farm in California teaching some of the foster kids living there. She accepted the offer hoping to finally find a true home. However, she gets a lot more than she bargained for when the farm's ghosts force her to face horrible memories she has barred deep down.
I read one of Nina Lacour's books about a year ago but was worried her other books wouldn't be as good. However, I loved this book even more than the last. Every character felt like their own character and not just someone there to progress the story. I was never bored reading this book and couldn't put it down. It was engaging the entire time and I read it all in one day.
The only thing I didn't like about this book was I felt not all the characters had their stories fully explored and I wanted to hear more about their backstory.
