I really related to the main character. My mom never wanted me and wasn’t around a lot, so I had a sense of wanting to belong. The way that the author has written her really tugged on my heart strings and made me believe she was a real person. I saw myself in her and the short excerpt made me want to read more. She’s such an interesting and complex person that I was left needing to know more. I’m invested in her journey and what happens to her because of the style that the author chose to write in. It is very descriptive and all the supporting characters add great context to her story and who she is. I find myself rooting for her. Overall, it is very good so far! I also really loved the imagery on the cover!
