It was weird that I could feel the loneliness of the main character in this book. It was an emotional ride.

Nina LaCour, the author, created this raw character named Mila that carried her sadness, guilt, and loneliness from her past. Coming from the foster care system herself, she decided to teach foster kids on a secluded farm somewhere in Northern California. Despite being warned that the farm was haunted, she went and hoped this could be her "forever home." She took the chance to redo her life by helping other foster kids too.

It's was an emotionally moving 261 pages. The beautiful book jacket tricked my mind, and I never thought this book would be this sad. I hope Nina will watch over me after she broke my heart.
