Not only is the art of the cover beautiful but the inside of the book are absolutely incredible. I love the way Nina LaCour writes. Somehow she always manages to capture the loneliness of her characters and hauntingly beautiful atmosphere. This book is about Mila, a recent graduate, not just from high school but now old enough to be aging out of the foster care system. Luckily, Mila is offered a job at a farm. This farm however is more of a refuge for kids in and now out of the foster system. Mila is hoping for the chance to maybe finally have a family but this refuge is also haunted. Past traumas, and terrible memories resurface along with the ghosts. This book bounces between memories of the past and the present. Like I said Nina LaCour is an incredible writer and this book at its core is about grief, trauma, memories, and healing. If you have read and loved any other of Nina's book, then youwill love this one as well!
