When I read the @bookishfirst First Look for Watch Over Me by @nina_lacour I was 100% in love. So when I found out I won the raffle and would be receiving a copy I started checking the mail on the daily. 🖤
Mila has aged out of the foster system and has received an internship on a farm where the home owners have taken in dozens of foster kids over the years. Mila’s job is to live and work on the farm and help teach the foster kids in the schoolhouse. The only thing they didn’t tell Mila is that there are ghosts on the farm too. Ghosts that haunt her and remind her of the past.
This book is hauntingly beautiful. Not just the cover art, but each and every word inside it. 🖤 Mila is a great character and her relationship with Lee, one of the foster boys on the farm, made my heart ache. This is my first book by Nina LaCour but I’m sure it will not be my last.
