This book was a quick, easy read. Mila is a character that pulls you quickly into her story and leaves you wanting more. I enjoyed the authors use of past and present events to enhance your understanding of Mila’s life. I found myself thinking about how Milas past effected her decisions in her current situation. I enjoyed the emotions and watching Mila grow while accepting her past.
I did however wish for more from this story. I thought that the story line ended abruptly and needed a more inclusive ending. It would have been enjoyable to see how Mila helped the twin girls face their ghosts now that she has an understanding of what this means. I also personally think a multiple narrative story line would have enhanced the readers insights to farm life. I would have loved to read through Liz’s or Lee’s perspectives too!
