I devoured this book in one night. I made some meatless sausage pizza rolls (yes, those exist), poured me some Italian wine, and went at it. Seeing this amazing cover and knowing the author's past works, I knew going in that I was in for a heart-ripping treat. Which I love. When I read a book, I want to feel like the words are tearing me apart. That I can feel the emotion the writer puts into the story like it's a tangible thing.

Nina LaCour writes like she's living in a messy world filled with heartache and sadness, and just wants us to reach our hands down to pull her free.

In WATCH OVER ME, recent high school graduate and foster kid Mila lands a job teaching in a remote farm in Northern California. She immediately learns that the residents and the land seem to be haunted and ghost freely walk about without a bat of an eye. As each day passes, she starts thinking of the farm as her home. A real home. But soon realizes that no matter how far she runs, the past will always follow her.

I won this book from BOOKISHFIRST, so if you haven't hopped onto that site and started poking around, now's the time. This, in no way, affected my rating. This book was short but packed so much emotion into it that it almost seemed to swell. Look, I'm not one to push you to read something, but this one, I will shove into your face until you crack it open.

Thanks, Bookishfirst, and the publisher for the chance to read and review this incredible book!
