This book was so original, working off of a fairly familiar plot concept but making it totally its own. The main character moves away to work a new job, and has interactions with the paranormal. The discussions of mental health in this book are very well done and nuanced. The main character represents a fresh perspective that isn't commonly utilized in fiction. I think that this is a really well done book that will leave a lasting impression over the years and I would recommend it to all young women who are not intimidated by a heavier tone and more serious themes in fiction. I loved the main character and thought that she was very relatable and well fleshed out, although the side cast did lack a little bit of dimension. I loved the integration of the paranormal elements into the more realistic and grounded plotline, it was skillfully done.
