My initial first reaction is that this sounds like the story of an underdog! And who doesn't love a good underdog story! I work in mental health so of course the words, "foster home," pricked my ears. This sounds like a great read because we have the back story of why Mila has been in foster care throughout her...life? High school? Last year of high school? What is the trauma she suffered? And now we have her future, which is bringing back memories from her past, so all in all, I'm pulled in!
