So at first, I wasn't too intrigued by this book. It seemed kind of standard, "orphan goes to work at a farm where she finds her forever home with the people she has chose to be her family". But I could soon see that there was so much more to it. Mila's past trauma along with the creepy aspects of the farm add a layer of mystery that causes you to continue reading. I also liked the choppy style of writing. One minute you are at the farm and the next you are in Mila's memory. It is very realistic to a trigger that occurs from trauma and I really appreciated that. I couldn't really get a feel for the characters, but they all seem okay. I do feel that a lot of them have an underlying secret that needs to be revealed which encourages me to read on further. Finally, I really liked the cover, it was pretty and eye-catching. I will say that I feel like the plot of the story (from what I can tell in the first 50 or so pages) doesn't really match the cover, but I'm sure as time goes on, it will. Overall, I would definitely read more of this book!
