I expected to scan through the first few pages to get a feel for the story line, but I was pleasantly surprised to find myself pulled into the book immediately. The idea of young people finding a new life after growing out of foster care homes is one I had not considered. Do they outrun the evils and disappointments of their pasts? Or do those horrors, and perhaps new ones, keep a strong hold on them? I am intrigued and want to find out what happens next.
