Almost seems too perfect

I like the premise of the book. It drew me in, got me excited. The first few pages, really until Mila ended up at the farm, everything was going well. There was enough mysterious past to keep me interested, enough unknown about the future to keep me wanting to read more. I like Mila. She reminds me of me in some ways. Then the book went sideways for me. The kids are almost too perfect, everything is almost too perfect. Nothing is a utopia in reality. In the end, I’m not as impressed with the first impression of this book as when I started reading it.
