This isn't the first book I've read from Nina LaCour, but this is certainly a lot different from her other books! It still has strong contemporary elements, but it's also mysterious, creepy, and a little magical. I got a strong magical realism vibe from the excerpt, which is just my jam. Of course, this is wonderfully written and I was absolutely sucked in. I want to know more about Mila, about her history. I want to know more about this strange farm. And I want to know more about the ghosts.
