Okay, some parts of this book were really cool. I liked the future stuff with the augmented and cybernetic humans who had little nanobot helpers. I also like the animals, even the altered ones. The battle scenes with the mechs were pretty exciting too. Onyii was awesome in those battles and well deserved the name Demon of Biafra.
That being said, I did not really enjoy the depressing story of endless fighting between Nigeria and Biafra (though I did learn more about the actuall civil war between those two nations that I knew nothing about) and the story of Onyii and Ify. There were too many other characters and stories that went nowhere, like with Ada or some of the other War Girls from the camp.
This book had its strong points, but also many weak ones and overall this book was a bit of a disappointment.
