I haven't read Tochi's other books, Beasts Made of Night and Crown of Thunder, but after reading War Girls, I feel these are a necessity to hold me over until publication.
The letter from the Assistant Editor was a nice, personal touch, as I don't see that a lot with excerpts/first looks/ARCs. I learned more about Tochi and his reasoning for writing War Girls, which helped me become more engaged in the story because it's so personal and close to his heart.
The world-building is well done and helps you visualize the environment Onyii and Ify are living.
