Once again, we've destroyed the world down to a broken, irradiated mess and disappeared, leaving the disadvantaged to scrabble for whatever precious resources remain among themselves. In this story, it is tribes in Nigeria, and two sisters are part of a hidden camp of girls and young women trying to survive one more day. I still don't love these type of books, but there's promise in the relationships between the girls that help humanize something that tends to be both boring and depressing to me.
