There are many types of dystopian novels. One of the first, before dystopian books were a separate genre, were the after the bomb books. Nuclear destruction and the mutations populate such stories. Worldbuilding consists mostly of showing the changes between now and after and how the survivors live with those changes. War girls changes that by adding the technology that existed before the bombs fell, technology that still works.
