The opening of this book addresses what readers see on the book's cover, which is essential to the story because the cover caught my attention in the first place.
The introduction to the other characters makes me want to read this story even more. Yet, taking the time to explain the setting (i.e. weather and mosquitoes) makes the story more believable (besides the climate dystopia) and more immersive.
