This is a quirky, engaging story. It's just over 150 pages, so easy to enjoy in one sitting. Hannah Sharpe is a character who has been written out of many stories by her creator, Wanda Wiley. Hannah's character just doesn't fit the romance novel mold of the books that Wanda has been writing. Hannah is "staying" in a cottage where time seems to stand still. Other characters come and go based on what Wanda is doing with them.

While Hannah is (im)patiently waiting for a storyline worthy of her, her author, Wanda, is struggling. Wanda has been living with Dirk for several years. He was her professor and still thinks of himself as all that. He is critical of Wanda and her fiction writing (though he hasn't gotten past the first letter of his book). Wanda has lost her direction and is faced with a big decision.

Trevor is a an action-oriented character in a book Wanda is currently ghost writing; he ends up in the cottage with Hannah. He and Hannah do what they can to work together to support Wanda. I am sure my description doesn't do this justice. I found it to be imaginative, surprising, funny and hopeful. I would't categorize it as romance- probably more Modern Fiction, Women's Literature, and, maybe, comedy. It's definitely worth checking out.
