This book is a definite change of pace. The first pages easily draw you in as you are introduced to the character Hannah who is a character abandoned by her exasperating author. She meets the antithesis of her expectations of a love interest, Trevor. Trevor is a manly, one-sided character created by another author for whom Wanda is ghost writing. He is everything Hannah (and most strong women) loathe.

Next, the book introduces you to Wanda, a washed up author, who panders to everyone but herself. She is chained to a jerk, Dirk, who is worse than Trevor ever could be. You won't like either much.

The book characters soon soften to each other and joined together to help Wanda save herself. This leads Wanda to take a chance on real love instead of passion and develop into the strong woman she was meant to be.
