Modern day setting with a women in a crappy relationship. The main character Wanda in this book is a author & you can see through her characters how her day to day internal struggle is. Loved the concept of the interaction of the characters in the book she is writing, & how they are trying to help the main character but it was a bit confusing but I really did enjoy reading from their perspective almost like they are her subconscious. I really did enjoy the the boyfriend in this story, could really see how he manipulates the situation to his advantage & sucks her back in. In such a short book, could feel & see her struggle to figure out who she is, what she wants & her struggle to make it happen! I kinda wish there was not another love interest & maybe it was just a friend helping her out, or she with the help of her characters managed to get out herself. But a good read.
