I'm not a big romance novel reader, but this was a real blast! There are very few books where the character is literally fighting with the author for control of their own story. In a way, the narration is a very interesting meta conversation about free will and destiny. I'm not sure if the plot is actually something I would enjoy to read for more than 50 pages but I love the idea of author vs. character being played out like this.
