I'm getting major Where the Crawdads Sing vibes from this. Maybe it's the main character's scientific interest in nature, maybe it's the lyrical prose and vivid characterizations of country life, but these characters seem like they'll take hold of your heart in the same way that book did. Can't wait to read more!
