The first chapter was a little strange but held my attention - saving a forest from an invasive species of beetles? Okay, I can go with that. But I lost interest in the second chapter, although it could just be the set up to a decades old secret (buried body, maybe?) between two childhood friends. This novel has potential, though - let's hope it lives up to it!
