The synopsis is one that could describe several dozen books written over the last decade. Too many books are about going back to a childhood home to face long ago secrets. This one does have a slight difference with an entomologist as the MC, but the excerpt did not make that important in any way other than as a way to preach about environmentalism. It seemed to have no real bearing on the plot. It was written okay, clearly reading as a debut novel. With a generic synposis and a first chapter that is a bit too preachy, this book would not be my pick.
