This synopsis has a lot of mysteries, and I am curious about where this goes. I'm wondering if there's a trigger warning needed for the dark secret/event that ruined their childhood. The cover and natural setting remind me a little of Where the Crawdads Sing. If it is similar, I think the book might benefit from that comparison.
