The synopsis makes me want to read more. I want to know what this dark secret and urgent message is between the two characters. I'm also curious about the genre. The cover makes it look like a Nicholas Sparks (romance?) book, but the synopsis is giving off more of a Where the Crawdads Sing vibe. I'd like more details before I consider purchasing.
