First off, this cover is absolutely gorgeous!! I love the pink and purple sunset! This story was interesting from the start of the book as Cadence is out in the middle of this mountain looking for these disruptive tiny beetles that are eating the trees alive with a wildfire raging nearby when she gets a call from her childhood best friend saying that the police had found her father's body and that she needed to come home quickly. Cadence knew that it would ruin the years that she had kept this nightmare from her past so hidden. She knew it would mess everything up, but she knew she could not run away again from her problems. I love a good mystery book and this one definitely has my attention!
