At first glance, the cover art made me think of Where The Crawdad Sing, which I haven't read. However, the excerpt immediately drew me in. I like how badass Cadie comes across. Her sarcastic, headstrong manner makes me want to know her in real life, and I want to know what happens with her and Daniela and what the mystery is.
