The cover is just amazing and it is what drew me to click on it. The cover drew me in but it was the plot the made me stay. I love a good mystery and Cadie's past from the first couple chapters is something I would like to see unfold.
It was also interesting that the Cadie is studying beetles what lead to fires which brings some current world events since in the last year there have been lots of wildfires. It is also a career that not many main characters in books seem to have, at least not in books I have read so it is different which I like.
