Right off the bat, this book pulls you in from the very first chapter. Who did "they" find? Why did it take them so long? What does this have to do with Cadie and her childhood friend Daniella? I suppose we're going to be told the story in alternating timeliness- the past, when this mysterious event occurred, and the present, where Cadie has to confront the secrets she's been holding on to. I also found the aspect of Cadie's quest as a entomologist intriguing, and am curious to find out if her research does ultimately stop the spread of those wildfires. I'm certainly interested to see where this goes.
