I loved this book! I admit, I was not familiar with the author (and I work in a library!) but certainly am now. Not knowing quite what to expect I was in for a lovely surprise.

I had many feelings reading this. First concern for Virgil as he's in an accident. Sorry, I hate to share too much but that information is the premise shared. So I'm curious about him and how he will do. He is quite an interesting character and showed just how human. He is surrounded by friends and townsfolk, just a unique group of individuals and felt true to real people, quirks and all.

There's mystery which I love and it felt answered by the end.

I also felt joy and wanted to fly a kite! The writing, the descriptions, just made my mind come alive feeling the wind and pull of the kites.

It's an introspective read and one to make you think, not too hard of course but one you don't want to speed through. It left me satisfied and one I know will stay with me. It's a special read where you can enjoy the words and not just the story. Read this one.
