Virgil Wander is a guy who almost losses his life and his memory for a time. Trying to figure out who he is and how all the people in this small midwestern town fit maybe not into his life but were or will be a part of it. My favorite character is a boy who thinks fishing is a better education than school but Virgil knows better. Rune who is a part of Virgil life is trying to help him regain some part of his memory and all the other people in this small village that he know from his stay I would say living here and oh I forgot the small time pitcher (baseball) that played a big part in this town who disappears in a plane somewhere no one knows where. It's a book I recommend for those who like a good book and a little bit of a mystery.
