I really enjoyed reading the excerpt. I also really enjoyed the writing style. It truly feels as if the speaker is truly trying for more, an understanding, a readjustment.
Especially, when Virgil felt as if his apartment was not, in fact, his and that Virgil never survived the accident. I'm intrigued to see how Virgil eventually adjusts to all of that.
I did, in fact, notice a shift in Virgil's character and the atmosphere of the scene when Virgil reached out and touched the kite. His body had a physical reaction to it, it's as if his brain was stimulated, whether that be a good thing or a bad thing.
